The broker behind the anchor
Ancora Finance is a boutique, independent mortgage broking firm — one senior broker, the whole lender market, and a promise built into the name.
Senior Finance Specialist & Director
10+ years in lending. 500+ clients helped. $240M+ settled.
Ross has spent more than a decade arranging finance for Newcastle and Lake Macquarie locals — through rate cycles, regulator changes and every kind of curveball a property purchase can throw. He started Ancora Finance to do broking the way he believes it should be done: independent, unhurried and explained in plain English.
His specialty is the deals that don't fit the template. Self-employed income that a bank computer can't read. SMSF structures. Families holding two properties for six tense weeks. Where others see paperwork problems, Ross sees policy puzzles — and with 50+ lenders on the panel, there's almost always a lender whose rules fit your reality.
When the loan settles, the relationship doesn't end. Rates move, fixed terms expire, families grow — Ancora clients get reviewed, not forgotten.
Why "Ancora"?
Ancora is Italian for anchor. An anchor holds a vessel steady when the water won't — and that's the whole promise of this firm: a steady hand through the biggest financial decisions of your life.
The tagline, Firm & Secure, comes from the same idea — hope as "an anchor for the soul, firm and secure" — a conviction the business is quietly built on.
Three things you can hold us to
Independent, genuinely
We're not owned by a bank and we don't push a house product. Recommendations come from comparing 50+ lenders against your situation — and they're put in writing.
Transparent fees, no surprises
For most home loans our service costs you nothing — the lender pays a commission, which we disclose in full before you commit. If a fee ever applies, you'll know first.
Local, and staying that way
Newcastle and Lake Macquarie are home. We know the suburbs, the agents and the valuers — and you'll deal with Ross, not a call centre.
